**Title: Vice President of Finance**
**Reports To: Chief Executive Officer**
**FLSA Status: Exempt**
Our essential strategic partner with a mastery of numbers and business-driven insights. Partner with Operations, Marketing, Culinary, Talent and Technology to drive insights and assess opportunities, evolve us to a higher level of thinking and execution across our business, and build accountability for results. Truly a broad-based contributor to a small team with significant influence over our future path and an ability to wrap our hands around meaningful business opportunities and issues and help us build a distinctive, impactful, productive company.
**What youll own:**
* **Reporting and Insights:** We need to rebuild our reporting infrastructure after outsourcing accounting. Partner with outside parties and IT to create comprehensive and automated reporting of KPIs, core financials, analyses, and single versions of the truth of our efforts and results.
* **Accounting and Control:** Manage outsourced GL team for period end closes, full cycle AP/AR, cash management, and automation/streamlining of non-strategic processes. Ensure cash and assets are protected, reduce loss/theft/shrink in the normal course of our business, enact and maintain policies and procedures that ensure we see and solve problems as soon as they occur.
* **FP&A**: Annual and periodic business planning, including cash planning and cash flow forecast updates. Build assessment models for business expansion across different revenue streams - new restaurants, ghost kitchens, digital strategies, etc.
* **Investor Relations**: Be our point person on managing our capital structure and periodic reporting to our board and investors.
* **Audit, Tax, Compliance**: Lead an efficient annual process with our audit and tax firms. Manage an outsourced infrastructure for license, registration and taxation admin for maximum compliance.
* **Compensation and Payroll oversight**: Directly build commission programs, bonus programs, drive alignment and performance in the business. Manage outsourced payroll partners to ensure accuracy and efficiency of our payroll processes.

* Ability to drive inefficiencies out of our business, our operating model, our processes, and our insights/reporting.
* Strong with data and technology - partner with IT and third parties to ensure data integrity, robust tools sets, distributed information, and ensure we build knowledge and capabilities to have smart operators and a results-oriented company.
* Detailed knowledge of accounting rules and an ability to drive a clean general ledger/monthly close/reporting process.
* Excellence in business planning, budgeting, forecasting and translating strategy to resource plans.
* Good judgment with the ability to make timely and sound decisions.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills and attention to detail.
* Ability to deal effectively with a diversity of individuals at all organizational levels.
* Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
* Commitment to excellence and high standards.
**EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:**
* Bachelors degree (B.A./B.S.) in a related field or equivalent.
* 10-15 years experience in a progressive, multi-unit management environment.
* Proficiency with reporting technology, general ledger systems, payroll systems.
* Experience in a multi-unit environment with strong finance infrastructure.
* Expert user in data manipulation tools, including Excel.
* Effective at identifying and managing key third party providers to deliver results across the enterprise
* Project planning and management a plus.
* Experience with real estate analytics/pro-forma and full cycle real estate expansions in small format food a plus.
